1. Acceptance of terms

By using percentages.co.uk, including all calculators, worksheets, practice questions, revision resources, embeddable calculators and the API, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Use of calculators

All calculators are provided free of charge for personal, educational and professional use. Results are provided for informational and educational purposes only and must not be relied upon for financial, legal, tax, medical or academic decisions without independent verification. We make every effort to ensure accuracy but cannot guarantee results are error-free in all circumstances.

3. Worksheets and printable resources

All worksheets and revision resources on the site are free to print and use for personal and classroom educational use. Teachers may print and distribute worksheets to their students at no charge.

Worksheets must not be sold, repackaged or published on other websites without our written permission. The percentages.co.uk credit on worksheets must be retained when printed and distributed.

4. Embeddable calculators

Third parties may embed our calculators on their own websites using the iframe embed code provided on the site. The following conditions apply to embedding:

  • The embed must not be modified to remove the percentages.co.uk credit link
  • The embed must not be used on websites containing illegal content, adult content, hate speech or content that promotes harm
  • We reserve the right to withdraw embed access at any time
  • We accept no responsibility for how embedded calculators are used on third-party sites
  • Embedding a calculator does not create any partnership or endorsement relationship with percentages.co.uk

5. API usage

The free API at /api/calculate is provided for non-commercial use only. Commercial use requires written permission. We reserve the right to rate-limit or withdraw API access at any time.

The API must not be used in a way that places unreasonable load on our servers. We accept no liability for any decisions made based on API results.

6. Intellectual property

All content on percentages.co.uk, including calculators, worksheets, practice questions, revision notes, infographics and written content, is the intellectual property of percentages.co.uk unless otherwise stated. Content must not be scraped, copied or republished without written permission.

The free use permissions granted for worksheets and embed codes are exceptions to this rule as described in sections 3 and 4 above.

7. Accuracy and liability

We take care to ensure all calculations and educational content are accurate and aligned to the UK national curriculum and current UK rates including VAT and tax rates. However, we accept no liability for any errors, omissions or outdated information. Users should verify any important calculations independently.

Results from grade calculators are indicative only. Actual grade boundaries are set by exam boards and universities after each assessment period and may differ. Always refer to your official exam board or institution for confirmed grade boundaries.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.

8. External links

The site links to external websites including gov.uk, bbc.co.uk and ofqual.gov.uk for reference purposes. We are not responsible for the content or availability of external sites. The inclusion of a link does not constitute endorsement.

9. Availability

We aim to keep the site available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time without notice.

10. Privacy

Your use of the site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

11. Changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent update. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
